Working with the Community
Park Place will continue to work hard on developing relationships with a wide range of community-based organizations to ensure that everyone is getting the most out of the development.
- Park Place has donated land so Talk Is Free Theatre can build a permanent home for live theatre. In the interim, it has donated the use of the former beer store to the theatre, providing a temporary venue for their performances.
- The Molson House will remain on site and provide dinner-theatre options for the live theatre venue.
- We are working closely with Georgian College to maximize the potential for their students.
- We are working with Tourism Barrie and their partners to enhance tourist potential for the development and have offered them an information kiosk on site to promote other attractions within Barrie.
- Space has been offered for a south-end library branch and bus depot – a great central location for both of these amenities. There is a need for both of these amenities to be centrally located in the south-end.
- More than 20 acres will be dedicated to the City of Barrie for environmentally protected leisure uses.
Park Place wants to partner with the community and find ways to maximize the potential and benefits for all of Barrie.
“I think that Park Place will help put Barrie on the map. Having a high-end retail establishment in Barrie would be great.”
